"No no. You are a full fledged inventor now, you can submit any invention of merit that you create. I knew you had the potential, but channeling it was something else."
He walked to the cabinet and pulled out a rather large stone jug, along with two shot glasses.
"Tell me Michael, have you ever had Dwarven Forgefire? They say it's so potent that you could temper steel over the flames it makes."

Michael nodded, agreeing to the full-fledged inventing thing. It was nice to hear it from Nicholas, even if Michael had been inventing things for a while now... Albeit, not necessarily useful things.
He watched as Nicholas pulled out the jug, his eyes widening as he realized what it was.
"Uh... can't say that I have, actually," he admitted, walking over to get a closer look. "And honestly, the stuff would probably knock me on my a**."
He reached up and tweaked his slightly pointed ears.
"Half-elf, and all that."

"Well that is a problem then." Nick said, pouring the two shot glasses anyway. "See, as inventors out main dealings are with humans and dwarves. And if you can't drink, well then the dwarves don't want anything to do with you. Come on, you didn't have anything important to do today did you?"
He placed one glass on the table and began sipping his, the liquid had such a strong scent it would fill the room in seconds. "Even I'm not crazy enough to down this stuff in a shot, you have to take your time and enjoy it. Unless of course you are a dwarf, but I don't think either of us have the beard for that."

Michael sighed, eying the drink. His intolerance for alcohol was somewhat legendary. Back in his school days, his friends used to love getting him drunk. After all, it was a fairly easy process.
Still, he didn't want to offend his new patron. So he grabbed the drink and held it loosely in his hand, swirling it a little.
"You know, I speak fluent Dwarvish, you'd think that would be enough," he commented, as he took a sip of the drink. As he expected, he already felt a little buzzed. Smacking his lips, he eyed the glass.
"You know, I'm probably going to get drunk off the fumes... let alone the drink..."

"Hah! Well trust me, you wouldn't be the first, and you won't be the last." He said sipping a little bit more of his drink. "You know, I'd imagine that with your position you wouldn't have the time to do all this inventing, it's a long and tough process, and this isn't a simple piece of machinery. You wouldn't be slacking off on your duties are you? I'd hate to have a pretty lady mad at me because I keep distracting her subordinates." He swirled the liquid in the glass as he mused to himself. No matter how hard he tried, he kept dealing with that school way too much. So he instead embraced it, and made himself very well known to the school and it's students. "Which reminds me, I might have a new invention for use in the school. I've been working on a new toy, among all the damn custom orders I get from Torin." He sighed as he finished that sentence. It seemed like every month he got some silly order from the council, and while it was good business, it did keep him from his own designs.

Shrugging, Michael played with the drink in his hand.
"Well, I manage to squeeze in some inventing in between all the classes," he explained, "I mean, I'm not needed all the time. Especially on weekends and whatnot. And when the school isn't in session. That's when I did most of the work on this particular device."
He waved vaguely at the translator, as though there could be another device somewhere he'd been working on.
"And Kyana would be mad at me first..." Michael trailed off. He couldn't help but think how hot it would be to have his boss mad at him. She was so sexy when she was angry... well, she was actually sexy normally. It just went up when she was angry.
"Now, what's this about a new invention?" he asked, getting to Nicholas's comment. He edged forward, interested in whatever it was that Nicholas had cooked up.
