Dieter walked into the apartment that Jasmine and him were sharing. Tonight Dieter was wearing his black duster with a silk shirt and silk pants underneath. The duster was one of Dieter's all time favorites for weather and pockets, and silk just felt nice to wear. Dieter looked at Jasmine and then said, "alright I've got the day off. Do you know what that means. I think it's time you actually spent the weekend getting to know vampires a little better. Plus I haven't seen Mizu in a while. I think you'll like her." Dieter then looked to see if Jasmine was even in the apartment. He wasn't sure if she was in the living room, kitchenette, or in the bedroom/workout room. Dieter kept his eyes open and wondered if she was there at all. He didn't really listen to make sure she was there but instead decided the loud grand entrance was the best option.

Jasmine's ears picked up on Dieter's loud entrance. He was home! She had been lying on her futon, trying to figure a few things out. It wasn't working very well and she welcomed the distraction. She jumped up and flew out to greet him. "Hey." She greeted breathlessly. Her eyes darkened a fraction as he mentioned... Mizu was it? Who was that? Was she his girlfriend? Was there someone she had been keeping from the apartment? Who was she? She didn't like the idea of sharing Dieter. It was silly, but she was starting to like him. Just a teensy weeny tiny- big- bit.

Dieter noticed the slight facial change in Jasmine's eyes. That look was one of the most ancient and universal signals among women. Dieter knew it instantly from the couple of times that he two timed with women from the same city and he slipped up. It's easier if when you talk about a girl you speak in another language. More often than not the American won't know Arabic and vise versa. Dieter wasn't romantically involved with anyone but having Mizu as his servant, Caldera as a friend, Valencia as a stalker, and the fact that he looked after all his seraphs in a fashion would lead anyone to form suspicions.
Dieter took his time to develop relationships. It took a long time for him to get you trust him. His sense of loyalty extended until you could prove universally that the person he was loyal to was up to no good. Even then it was hard to get him to take overt action agaisnt them. Even though Dieter took a while to develop relationships he did consider the here and the now of life. Plus Jasmine was growing on him and it was time for her to socialize with some vampires who weren't complete beaurocratic pompous assholes. Just mostly beaurocratic pompous assholes.
"Mizu's been a servant of my bloodline and manages my estate while I'm keeping my residency here. I need to be on call at all times at TI and that can get rough from a place that only allows you in at night." Dieter gave a bow, "I would be honored if you would join me for a tour of The Coven. The vampire homelands if you will."

Jasmine relaxed a little when he told her Mizu was a servant. But only a little. She was still suspicious. She even felt a little guilty for keeping him from whatever it was he was meant to be doing. But she brushed those thoughts aside. She glanced down at what she was wearing. It was some of the clothes he had brought her. Her teeth and skin were almost sparkling clean, but still, she wasn't sure if she looked right for a tour.
She asked as much. "Should I change first?" She pushed her hair back away from her face and blushed. She didn't know how to react when he bowed. It was strange that she wasn't sure what to do. She had never experienced people bowing at her. She had grown up in Australia. Anyone who bowed was way out of place. She bit her lip, still unsure.

Dieter looked Jasmine up and down. "Looks fine to me. We'll only be going to my estate. I'm a pants optional kinda guy for my visitors but some of the neighbors frown on that sort of thing. You'll do fine as is. I want you to learn a new trick. However first we have to get you to the Coven before you can start understanding it. How's the mist forming coming by the way?" Dieter took Jasmine's hand and started looking for the next entrance. Dieter found it down the hall in a laundry room where the fluorescent light went out or was disabled. That didn't bother Dieter any. Every couple of days or so some resident gets very upset when someone flips on the light when they were cleaning their jeans. Goblins don't ever react positively to that one.
Dieter took Jasmine's hand and started guiding her out the door. He used telekinesis to lock the apartment behind him as he started guiding Jasmine toward the next entrance.

Jasmine laughed. Pants optional? She hadn't imagined him as that kind of person. But she knew there was a lot she still had to learn. And he was going to teach her a new trick. She really was lucky to have him. "Mist forming? Well I practiced a bit the other day, I think I almost have it down." She admitted proudly. She liked the feel of her hand in his but she didn't comment. It would be just like her to wreck their friendship by admitting to her feelings. Especially if he didn't return them.

Dieter lead Jasmine down the hallway and outside the laundry room. "Well," Dieter started, "see if you can't sense anything funny about this room." Dieter could feel the gateway open and exclusive to vampires and their guests. The gateway would only open if one sensed and walked through it. Jasmine probably didn't know what she was looking for but she should be able to sense something different about the area.
Dieter knew Jasmine had her reservations about Dieter having a girlfriend and her curiosity as to the nature of Dieter. He did remain completely oblivious to her crush. Dieter stopped reading her mind a while ago as it would not seem impressive and more so as invasive. The practice of mind reading also was a sign of trust. Dieter trusted Jasmine to talk to him and not try to blow his face off. Dieter kept reading minds out of habit when he felt likely to be threatened. Not in order to gain gossip, as this was no longer his job.

Jasmine looked at him curiously. There was something different in this room. It was like a change in the atmosphere. How strange. She concentrated, trying to figure out what it was. She couldn't. She wasn't sure if it was something she had felt before. It was kind of familiar. As if she should know. "it is funny. It's like, the density of the air changed..." She mused. She looked at him. "What is it?"
She was very curious about this room. So much that it almost overrode her curiosity about Dieter. Almost, but not completely. But now it was more of a nagging thought than something dominating her mind. The room was more important. But why, she wasn't sure.

"That's very good. But," Dieter opened the door to the room, "as soon as light hits this place it's just a laundry room. Over in the washer I want you to open it and walk through little Alice. Don't worry I won't make you sit through a God awful tea party with a rabbit or talk to stoned caterpillars." Dieter could sense the entrance in the washer. The entryway swirled in the back of it. It couldn't be seen but it could be felt. You had to have vampire blood to completely open it but it was there and it would do.

Jasmine stared at Dieter for a moment. Was he crazy? He wanted her to walk through a washer? But she could sense something different about it, so she shrugged and moved to do as he said. He had pretty much proved himself to be quirky, not crazy in the time she had known him. He deserved her trust now. She opened the washer and did as he said. ((Sorry it's short, I don't know what's supposed to happen so... ))

Jasmine crawled through the washer and found herself exiting out of a hole into a tunnel. There were no lights in this place but she could see with perfect clarity. It was obviously an underground room as there were no windows and a musty scent. Jasmine found herself in a bar. There weren't many people here. Just one gaunt looking man at the bar and the bartender. The seats were all set out and Dieter followed behind Jasmine and stood beside her. Dieter preferred to turn to mist rather than crawl on his hands and knees.
"Ah McGuintes, this ain't a half bad bar. We just got here before the regulars started showing up. Would you like anything Jasmine?" Dieter offered his hand to help her up.

Jasmine watched as he came through with ease while she was still on the ground. She blushed and took his hand, letting him help her up. She still couldn't believe that she had just crawled through a washer and ended up in a bar, but still... She had more important things to worry about. "Uh, sure..." She looked doubtful for a moment. "Do they sell anything..." She paused. "Uh, clean?"

"Food quality is taken very seriously here in the Coven. McGuinty, a pint for me and the lady, Elven with a squeeze of pepper please." Dieter liked elven blood as it had a fine taste that pepper could accentuate perfectly. Dieter looked around and threw some money at the tender. The drinks were served warm and Dieter handed the glass to Jasmine. "Welcome to the homeland and sanctuary Jasmine." Dieter took a gulp of the warm blood. It was fine, well preserved, and delicious.

While Dieter ordered for them both, Jasmine looked around. IT seemed like any other bar, except perhaps for what they sold. She was guessing that the majority of their customers were out of the ordinary as well. She took the drink from Dieter. "Thanks." She sniffed the drink a little before she tasted it. She wasn't used to drinking in bars. She took a careful sip. When the taste hit her mouth she closed her eyes. "Mmmm" SHe murmured to herself.

"Must be some of the first of the crowd eh McGuinty." The bartender gave a gruff grunt as he took a rag and cleaned the bar. "Oh hey Mitch, this is Jasmine. It's her first time to the Coven any advice for her."
"Watch out for assholes trying to take your money." The man rolled himself a cigarette and started to smoke. He looked kinda like a poor opium addict who had been turned into a vampire as he was bottoming out on the streets. Which more or less was true. Dieter kept an up beat tone and then continued on.
"Here's my tab McGuinty. Keep the brew good." Dieter only got a grunt for a reply but that was pretty typical of McGuinty. Dieter took Jasmine up a tunnel to the ground level of the Coven where one could smell the night air. The streets were decorated with old trees that overhung the streets as traffic lulled by. What vehicles they were had some variance but they all took slow speeds. After all riding on the street was what one did when wanted to travel in style and was in no particular hurry. Most vampires could traverse the town much faster on foot.
