Star wanders through the city, taking in the sights and sounds. He let the energy of all the people drift over him, like a tide of heat. Listening to the night club music from all the clubs, he smiled. Leaning into a doorway, he listened to the music and looked about, wondering if this was the club he should enter.

New York City. Boy did she look out of place! The pink-haired half-elf could hardly walk three steps before she had to stop and look around, dazzled and overwhelmed by the bustle of the city.
I'm so used to calm scenery, oh, I bet I look like I'm wearing a big old target, don't I? Oh, I wish I could bring my bow, but that would just be too obvious! How do you hide a bow, anyway?
She kept to the side of the street, so as to not get bulldozed by packs of adrenaline-pumped teenagers, or the occasional fancy automobile driven by the more wealthy. It was very intimating, but what an adventure it was! She told herself that it was a good idea, deciding to go traveling...well, a bit awkward all by her lonesome. She'd have to snag someone to go with her next time!
She spotted another who seemed a bit unsure, leaning into the doorway of a very loud-sounding establishment. Was that a club? She'd never been to a club! What a night it was going to be, so many new things!
Boldly, she fluttered over to the man - were those cat ears? - and gave him a friendly smile. "Hi! Are you lost, too?" Smooth move, talking to random strangers in a place she'd never been before! But she couldn't help it! He looked friendly!

Star looks up, his ears perking a little as he hears the voice address him. He turns and blinks at the other girl and tips his head, smiling a little. He clasps his head behind his head, tail twitching erratically about.
"Hello there. I'm not really lost so much as wandering about. My name's Star. What's your name?"

"I'm Kandy Saele, very nice to meet you, Star! That's an interesting name, is it short for something? Kandy is short for 'Kandyce,' but oh, everyone calls me 'Kandy!' 'Kandy' is just so much more fun!" She gave a little twirl in place, maybe because of her chipper mood, maybe because of the music playing nearby. The club music wasn't exactly the type to be twirling too, but Kandy had no idea! She didn't know how to dance in clubs!
"I'm lost and not lost, I suppose! Lost because I don't know where I am...and not lost because I don't know where I'm going! You can't very well be lost if you have no destination, now can you? Or can you? Oh, I don't know what I'm saying at all! The principle is rather confusing now that I think on it, oh, silly me!" She giggled at her own silliness and smiled at Star. Cat ears, yes, they had to be! Were they real?
"Why, your ears! How very peculiar! I've never seen anyone with ears like that before! Are they real?" She bounced on her tip-toes, reaching out to poke his ears. "How did you ever come by those? I've never seen a boy with cat ears before! Unless you're a cat with a boy's body, oh, just like that story, what was it? The Frog Prince?"

Star gives a little bow and laughs quietly at her attitude. He smiled back, and then tipped his head, his ears twitching. REaching up to brush fingers over it, he laughs and smiles. His tail was wrapped around his waist like a belt, the tip twitching.
"Yeah, it's just a nickname. My real name is Seamus, but I like Star better. And yes, they're real. I don't really remember where they came from, just that I got them when I was little."

Kandy's suspicion that Star's ears were real was allbut confirmed when she saw them moving! They just had to be real, then! It couldn't be magic if he didn't even whisper a spell! Besides, it would be too strange for a boy with cat ears not to know about magic!
"Oh, that's so...different! I wonder what it'd be like to have cat ears...and a tail, too?!" The pink-haired woman, pulled away before she could properly poke Star's ears, to poke his tail, instead. He had it about his waist like a belt...she didn't know cats could do that, and she owned a pet shop! Maybe only he could?
"I like cats. I have a pet shop, you know. Well, you don't, or didn't, but now you do! Can all cats do that wrappy-thing with their tails? I don't think I've seen it before, but I don't think I've ever seen such a long tail before!"
Well, she meant it innocently enough...

"Damn it...Sheitzher!!!!
Have a nice trip to New York they Said. Eat well they said. Go get a show they said. Just the minute you get a weekend off of work you run into the crap out there. Why is it that a showgirl who expresses interest you can't just be that. Instead she has to bring three Lycan buddies who, surprise, work for IAC to really put a damper on your evening. All in all, it was a good production of Hello Dolly.
Got away with injuring two of them but the third really hit pretty hard. Barely had the time to put up the wall, fade to black, then escape. Man does my arm hurt. I'll have to spend a couple minutes healing it.
I'll just get around the corner of this night club, maybe hide in there for a while and heal myself up goo.........
Please don't tell me on an evening when I have been attacked by four nasty lycans who really arn't up to chatting, I run cross paths with two people who have no idea of the situation."
Gathering up his strength and patching up some of the shredded bit of his left arm using his right hand to focus some healing magic on it. Most people that since he used his hands as his instrument for casting he was a natural caster. This was not the case. His instrument was nicely woven into his gloves. They were nice leather gloves with finely woven in symbols and glyphs. Each finger represented an element, the thumb, mind, and his palm spirit. He'd worked hard at ambidexterity for casting from each hand.
"Marvelous bleeding evening isn't it! Listen you two don't know what's going on but I think some trouble might be following me." He called out to the two individuals standing outside the club.

HE blinks and tugs the tip out of a belt loop, blushing just the tiniest bit. It twitches about a bit as he does so, and shrugs a little.
"I just tuck it away so I can keep it from hitting people. It's a little different, but I've gotten used to i-"
HE tenses a little as he sees the other get closer, and tips his head, ears flattening a little at the tense behaviour. He raises an eyebrow, looking around.
"Um...trouble? Of what kind, then?"

(Aww, I was gonna use magic gloves, too. </3)
"Bleeding? My, my, that doesn't sound very pleasant at all!" Kandy replied to the stranger jokingly. It seemed like people were extra friendly in New York! Why, they just walked right up to you and started talking! She did that sometimes, but people usually thought her peculiar for doing so...
"Well, that is very courteous of you to let us know!" She continued chattily, apparently more impressed by the stranger's manners than she was concerned about whatever threat was lurking nearby. "Oh, maybe I should have brought my bow, after all..." She gave a nervous laugh when she realized that she probably shouldn't keep telling everyone she was unarmed. Mostly unarmed, anyway.

"Lycan and someone backing him probably. Nasty bunch. I don't know how far back they may be but they're not half bad." Dieter paused focusing his effort through his glove. He sent his effort into his injured arm repairing bone and flesh. Good as new. An affinity for healing and magic always helps. It was official, he was now a statistic mugging of New York. Interesting that a city should be famous for muggings. Dieter looked around. Nothing coming down the ally, no rooftop problems. So far so good. He'd had a chance to heal which meant he was up to peak performance. Those two Lycans obviously couldn't have known how much accosting Dieter would cost them. They'd be luckly to survive the night from the poison now seeping in their veins. Crush immobilized them, but poison surely took them out of the action. There couldn't be that many more. This seemed more like a reminder more than an actual effort. They may have already retreated but just to be safe Dieter would have to protect the people here. Magically aware beings are always at risk in a situation like this.
"Name's Dieter, I'm a seraph don't worry we'll be perfectly fine." He flexed his healed arm and tested the joints. They were a little stiff and gave a reluctant pop. Good as new.

Star shrugged slightly, folding his arms and tucking his hands into his sleeves as he looked around. His ears twitched slightly, and he looked around at the shadows. He wasn't expecting any trouble tonight, but it seemed he would get it anyways. All he wanted was to dance, dammit.
"Allright, 'f you say so mate."

As they were talking two men rounded the corner, they spotted Dieter and the shorter one pointed him out.
The tall one was rather lanky, standing a little over six feet with shaggy brown hair. He looked almost like a berserker, his eyes full of rage. The smaller one had straight black hair and was toting around a shotgun, which he leveled at Dieter when he saw him. He smiled as he did, these Shells were imbued with the Sun Burst spell, perfect for fighting vampires.
"Arm for an arm you nightmare!" He shouted. The crowd near them seemed to sense what was happening and ran away screaming or hit the ground. It was only with a half second of warning that the short man pulled the trigger.

Dieter saw them just before the shout came. He never understood it when people would yell just before a surprise attack. It took all the element out of the surprise and gave your opponent just enough time to do something about it. He knew if the shot hit it'd be painful. No one carries just normal guns if they'd take him on. Eirgo, He'd definitely expect some fireworks and bright lights. He had more than enough concentration, and more importantly, both arms.
Using his vessel on his left hand he twittled his pinky and index fingers on his left hand, activating earth and air to create a black barrier in front of him. He knew that should hit the spread of bullets and stop any bright lights that should blind him. His right hand cast a quick curse, Enfeeble. Keeping the guy dumb for a short period of time would give Dieter more than enough time to deal with Mr. Shotgun. If it didn't work. There was plenty distance between him and the Lycan, he'd be able to raise some sort of protection spell at that point.
From the swift spell casting he swiped his hand to create the general area of the spell. Keeping the hand moving from the spell as it moved on its way to grab his Rope Dar. Leaving his right hand open to cast another spell, reinforce the shield as necessary, or maneuver the rope dart. His concentration never fading from the black force shielding him which would nuetralize the bullet. Fortionately the gun wasn't sawed off which meant the burst shouldn't hurt anyone nearby. Unfortunately that could mean a slug. He put enough power in his shield to stop a Slug and light. Always assume the worst and keep going. He put most of his effort into the shield hopping the enfeeble would be enough to hold the Lycan. If not it would get even harrier. Especially since there are now two people to keep safe. It also meant that he'd have to pay more attention to his rope dart, making sure not to entangle it on anyone, or getting it entangled on anything else. Years of training had kept him quite well aware and prepared to deal with that. Years of training had making the drawing of the rope dart somewhat habit as well.
His left hand clutched the handle and if necessary he could draw it to either throw off his right hand, neck, right shoulder or hip. This could catch anyone off guard and he was incredibly accurate with this weapon. Even if enfeeble didn't work on the Lycan, nasty weapons do help. Especially with a tint of blessed silver specially alloyed at the tip.

Kandy gave Dieter an offended glare. She took his 'I'm a seraph, don't worry,' comment a bit personally, as if he was implying that non-seraphs wouldn't last a second in a sticky situation. She poised her hands as if about to cast a spell, and would have shot the vampire with bolt if the two menaces didn't arrive just then.
She gave an exasperated sigh and let her hands fall slightly. She wasn't about to attack just yet, there was no sign that they really-
Then the short one shot at their seraph.
Oh, they can never talk it out, can they?!
Her original plan was to hit Dieter with bolt and then propose that they hide in the club. It'd be harder for the lycans to find them if they didn't know where they were. But she realized that was not a good plan; she didn't know if there were many veiled in the area, they certainly didn't want to fight with that many people around.
I don't really like fighting, but these guys are askin' for it!
She ducked around Dieter for a clear shot at the lycan he aimed to enfeeble. If it hit, that would make her attack more effective. If not...well, she wasn't gonna wait to see if it hit!
"Bolt!"

Star lets out a quiet curse as he sees the two burst from the crowd. He lets out another curse as the guns fire off. Sliding the daggers out of his sleeves, he lets the spell slip, fingers touching the collar around his neck.
"Haste!"
He ducks around the barrier that springs up from Dieter's spell as the effects speed him up, increasing his reaction. He aims at the lycan with the shotgun, hurling one of the silver- threaded daggers. Focusing as it flew, he let out another spell
"Wind blade."
He flung his fingers out, the focused burst of air speeding towards the flying dagger. IF he had timed it right, the blade would strike the dagger, doubling the force.
