Follow the Proboards ToS.
Be kind to your fellow members! Treat others how you would like to be treated, and if problems arise, try to solve them as peacefully as possible. Keep out-of-character issues out-of-character and off the board, and keep in-character issues from interfering out-of-character.
Listen to the staff! We are here to make sure you have fun (and to have fun ourselves). Treat us with respect, and we will respect you.
No spamming! Spamming, or continual useless posting, is not tolerated. If you want to talk to someone, please keep it out of roleplay areas, or use some different method to show that you're talking out of character (brackets, parentheses, no color when the character's posts are colored).
Keep your signature no more than 500 pixels wide, and 250 pixels high. This is to prevent excessive scrolling, and to decrease download time for those with smaller computers.
No powerplaying. Respect the other person's character. Do not control another character or force them to take action. Give all roleplayers the opportunity to react to your actions.
No godmoding. Keep your character's age, magical ability, or similar factors in mind when giving them unique powers and abilities. Be realistic! Give your characters strengths and weaknesses.
No powermodding. In battle situations, you are expected to be reasonable. Do not dodge, attack, or block continuously.
No metagaming. Don't let your knowledge of characters and plots interfere with your roleplays; just because you know osmething, it doesn't necessarily mean your character knows it. Act with the information your character would have.
Write stuff out. If your character is taking an action, please refrain from using *'s or -'s. Type out what they are doing in sentance format, for example, "Mary climbs the tree." instead of "*climbs tree*". If your character is talking, use quotation marks. Do not use chatspeak!
Use third person. For example, "She went to the store," not "I went to the store."
Be creative! While we do allow you to use pictures of existing characters or people to represent your character, please do not copy a character entirely. Please avoid using the full name of an existing character or person.
No one-liners! Please try to write out more than one line as a reply when roleplaying.
Ask for permission. You must get staff approval if you want your character to be one of the restricted species, if you want to play a canon character, and if you want your character to have unusual powers or abilities. If you want to play a character who is related to an already-existing character, you must get permission from that character. If you want to use a restricted spell or kill a character, you must get staff approval and approval from the roleplayer of that character.
Don't post in completed threads! Make sure to read a thread completely before posting. If all of the characters who were roleplaying in that thread already left, don't post there. If you want to roleplay with them, make a new thread.
Don't start a class unless your character teaches it! The teachers are responsible for running their own classes, and to prevent confusion, we ask that student characters wait for the teacher to make a thread, then post there.
Most importantly, have fun!
