Sirus walked among the lawn of the school. Thanks to his position he was able to walk wherever he felt like, and tonight the moon would be directly over this small garden. Others might have found the garden large and majestic, but to a true lycan it was just a small clearing. It was only a small crescent moon tonight, but bathing in the moonlight was relaxing, and it gave him time to reflect. He found a small patch of grass directly under the moon and released his fur cloak from his shoulders.
His shirt was of orient style, and his hair was neatly tied back. He leaned his head back and stared at the moon, slowly closing his eyes.
Sirus, being raised by Lycans, was a pagan, so he gave honor to Luna, the goddess of the moon. Not all of the recent lycans were, due to some being what they called 'The Afflicted.' Sirus thought on that, how they abandoned the others of them.
If you had a Lycan family, then of course you stayed with the pack. Those born lycan were natural lycans, like himself. But those humans who were bitten, they were 'The Afflicted', and they usually refused the invitation to join the pack of the one who bit them. Either that or the invitation was not extended, a grave sin. When you wrong someone, you atone for it with honor and courage. Not run away to avoid it.
He supposed it couldn't be helped, humans didn't have years of trying to quell the beast. They were unwillingly exposed to a creature in their own mind that was ravenous and dangerous. It was no wonder that they fell victim to insanity and savagery.
So deep in thought he was, that he failed to notice that he was no longer alone.

Dieter skulked through the shadows until he had come up on his target. Being a seraph was tricky business, being head seraph even trickier. Being the head meant you were in charge of ensuring all council members protected at all times. Still being a seraph meant logging in field time as protective services to individuals of interest. Which of course meant that in addition to the paperwork, posturing, reporting, organizing, training, screening, and interrogation. Dieter still had to do his field work. Dieter loved his job. Also he was looking for an excuse to slam his backlogged paperwork onto someone else.
It was a beautiful night and he just couldn't be stuck with doing boring paperwork this night. As a result he noticed a spot on the schedule to add a seraph to protecting Sirus out of council and snatched it up. Most lycans didn't take too well to a vampire tailing them, but Sirus was known to be a bit cool headed.
He stood a good eight feet behind Sirus before he realized how deep in thought Sirus was. Well, now was as good as any of a time to alert Sirus as to his presence.
"Hey Mr. Izanagi, my name's Dieter, I'll be your Seraph this evening."

Sirus' acute nose picked up the stench of the grave. All vampires, even those that could hide it from humans, could be detected by a trained lycans sense of smell. When the intruder announced himself as a Seraph, Sirus relaxed a little bit, but then immediately stood up.
"Tell me, which fool needs to be fired for appointing a vampire to shadow a lycan? I could have killed you moments ago had you not identified yourself." Sirus stood up and grabbed his cloak from the ground, pulling it back on. So much for quiet reflection under the moon.

"I volunteered for the work. Most people don't like working the late night shifts and I figured it'd give me a chance to meet you. I've heard some interesting stuff on you Sirus and I figured it'd be a good chance to meet you. I figured I'd save myself the trouble of having you freak out when you caught my scent," as all talented Lycans can, "and since it was a nice night why bother with the alternatives." Dieter paused for a second. He knew how pissed off people can get when they're disrupted from intensive thinking sessions.
"If you want I could fade back into the background. I figured it was best you knew I was hanging about, it avoids potential confusion." Dieter looked at the moon and took a nice deem inhale of the night scents. The cool night air entered his undead lungs and exhaled swiftly. Sure you didn't have to breathe but you get some really nice smells when you do. Like lycans vampires relied a bit on their sense of smell. Not to the same extent but smelling blood and sniffing out prey is a natural thing to do. Dieter held a respectful stance and gave a bow, always polite. He then waited to see if Sirus would just blow him off and continue thinking or if he'd actually decide to string up a conversation. It was a nice night for conversation and thought. Either would suite Dieter. It was unlikely there would be any attacks but Dieter would keep his eyes, ears, and nose at the ready.

"So let me get this straight..." Sirus said, trying to gather if this boy was arrogant, lazy or just plain stupid. "Instead of doing the other work befitting of your position you decided to risk your life tailing the strongest member of a race that has been waring with your own for longer then any member of either race can remember." He then turned and looked at this vampires face. He knew him.
"I know you. I've seen your face. Dieter you said? Dieter...Dieter..."
The name clicked, finally. "So the head Seaph is this reckless? Hmph, no wonder I don't put any trust in your organization."

Dieter took a bit of offense to that. Sure this guy was strong. He had to be. Alphas were always pretty hard core badasses. It wasn't recklessness that brought him here. It was more so a calculation. He knew that he'd be obligated to suffer his protection and knew that he was smart enough to be patient and wait on these kinds of things. Dieter never put any stock in the war between vampires and Lycans. Personally Dieter found war the dumbest practice one could ever engage in. All well. He couldn't outwardly show any offense to anything Sirus said. Both sides had done things to each other they weren't proud of. War always has a way of doing that.
Instead of replying with course whit and veiled insults Dieter decided it'd be best to be sincere and polite, "I understand you're assumption I'm reckless but I assure you seraphs are the best at what they do. Please this is just precaution and things have been rather slow. I also figured it'd be a chance to meet someone interesting. Please I don't regard any lycans as my enemy and my post should already show that I must indeed remain completely neutral in any conflict outside of TI. Sure I maintain my loyalty to the Council but they know better than to do that to someone in my position. Politicking......Well I'm sorry I put you in a foul mood."
Dieter sat down at the bench. He looked at Sirus to gage his reaction. He was very interested in how this would go. Of course Dieter hoped that Sirus would see him as sincere but such was hard to do with a creature who routinely manipulated minds to get nourishment. Ideas on hunting might be different but Dieter understood lycans on a level. After all, when enough of them try to kill you, you try to understand why.

OOC: Hey, why not, nothing better to do. IC: Sirus listened to Dieter's explanation, it made enough sense. One who could put their obligations to their people on hold for the good of all. A simple, but foolish trait. "So let me ask you this Dieter." Sirus said, staring directly into Dieter's eyes. "Should the world declare war on your kind, what would you do then? Keep your loyalty to your family or keep your loyalty to your government? The idea that you can keep your loyalty to both is a foolish human falicy. The desire to get everything without giving up anything. Your loyalty is only yours to give once, and your position would demand it would be to your government. But your race would demand it be to your elders. So to whom does your loyalty truely lie?"
