This section details the methods by which Lycans and Vampires are transformed.
"Who can become a Vampire or Lycan?"
Any species other than Lycans, Demons, and Djinn can become a Vampire.
Only humans may become a Lycan.
"What about children of Vampires and Lycans?"
Vampires are infertile, so they may not have children anyway, though they may consider people they have turned their offspring.
A Lycan's child may or may not be born a Lycan. Often the parent/parents must make the decision on whether or not to turn the child. Lycans may only have children with Lycans, Elves, and Humans. A Lycan/Human child that is not born Lycan is a Human, and a Lycan/Elf child that is not born Lycans is a Half-Elf.
"How does a character become a Vampire or Lycan?"
A character becomes a Vampire by being drained of much of their own blood by a Vampire and then drinking some of a Vampire's blood. The person bitten will be violently sick for a few days and then make the transformation. ONLY BEING BITTEN WILL NOT TURN YOU OR KILL YOU. IF YOU ARE COMPLETELY DRAINED AND NOT TURNED YOU WILL DIE IF NOT TREATED BY A HEALER.
A character becomes a Lycan either by being born one or by being a Human bitten by a transformed Lycan. Non-transformed Lycans and moon-week Lycans can not transform others. The person bitten will be violently sick for a few day and will feel more animalistic urges, until finally transforming on the full moon. IF YOU ARE NOT A HUMAN AND YOU ARE BITTEN, YOU WILL NOT TRANSFORM, BUT YOU WILL STILL GET SICK AND FEEL ANIMALISTIC URGES.
"How does being a Vampire or Lycan affect my current species?"
Those who are turned into Vampires will have their current species' abilities completely overwritten by the Vampire ones. This means losing things like Natural Caster and gaining light sensitivity, but it also present benefits such as Super Strength and Immortality. It's a mixed bag. Your character will keep their physical appearance from before, aside from growing more pale and having fangs.
Those who are turned to Lycans will have their Human abilities completely overwritten by the Lycan ones. The new connection with nature means losing abilites like Technologic and gaining Frailty, but also presents benefits such as Super Intelligence and Super Speed. The Human that is tranformed will keep their physical appearance other than becoming very weak and, of course, turning to a werewolf on the full moon.
"Can a character be 'cured' of Vampirism or Lycanthropy?"
The short answer is no. There are no known means of curing Vampirism or Lycanthropy.
However, during the period of time after being bitten by either where the character has fallen ill, it is possible to reverse the process, though there is a risk of the character dying. The character will not transform into a Vampire or Lycan, but they will still, with Vampires, be attracted to blood and not enjoy the sun, and, with Lycans, prefer their meat rare and become slightly weaker except around the full moon, when they'll feel more energetic.
"Can a Lycan be stopped from transforming on the full moon?"
It is possible to get a potion to stop the Lycan from transforming, and they will merely feel like they do for the rest of the moon-week, but seeing as Lycans are not turned to insane killing machines when transformed, not many take this option. The potion is expensive and most Lycans enjoy the thrill of becoming transformed anyway.
This option is mainly used to keep criminals or the mentally unwell subdued on the full moon, for those who are newly turned and still afraid of the wolf inside them, or for those who have something they must do on the night of the full moon and thus want to remain untransformed.
