The Weiss' Bar and Grill, a family-owned and -runned business. Good food, good drinks, good service. A friendly, relaxing atmosphere where people could unwind from the stresses of the day. And, being a Saturday mid-afternoon, it was the place to get lunch. Thankfully, though, it wasn't too crowded, but it seemed that getting food would take a bit longer than usual.
Kinami had a break from schoolwork, so she ventured around the island's beach town in search of something interesting to send back home to her family. It seemed the beach was the right place, save for one problem: she was extremely fair-skinned. As a result, she wore massive amounts of high SPF sunscreen and a small sunhat that matched her cute little yellow sundress and white sandals. She had been seated at a table that was half booth, half table, and she sat at the booth end so as to get a look at those who passed by or sat near her. A bit of a paranoid person when it came to crowds, she worried if people were talking about her behind her back, and sitting facing the rest of the restaraunt provided an opportunity to make sure they weren't.
She was given a menu shortly afterward and the waitress took her drink order before she left. Browsing the menu, everything seemed so delicious, and it was going to be a hard decision to make. She wasn't really in the mood for a burger... Maybe a grilled chicken salad? Yes, that sounded good, sounded refreshing.

"Can I help you, Miss?" came the smooth, pleasant voice of the Weiss in charge. He decided a further explanation was probably in order, and thusly, he obliged. "You waitress is on her lunch break, and since the bar isn't too busy, I'll take your order."
Weiss' primary job was bartender, but it wasn't uncommon for him to go in the back to help cook, or to relieve a waiter or waitress. It got a little hectic, but after over 300 years of running the place, and 400 or so years before that working in a combat environment, it didn't really phase him.

Kinami blinked, hearing an enrapturing voice calling for her. As she looked up, her face reddened a bit, her eyes looking over the man before her. Words didn't even come from her slightly parted mouth, as she just sat and stared. His elven ears were prominent, for sure, but perhaps it was the fact that an adult male was speaking to her that stunned her.
"A-Ah, y-yes!" It finally clicked in her mind that he was just there to take her order. Besides, it was far too large of an age gap for her to even consider that. "H-How is the grilled chicken salad?" She asked meekly, pointing to the item on the menu, in case for whatever reason, he wasn't sure of what she was talking about. He worked behind the bar? Probably too old for her anyway.

Humouring the girl, Weiss leaned over a little to read the menu. "Ah, yes, the grilled chicken salad," he said, as if only just remembering what the dish was. "Well..."
He leaned forward onto the back of a chair beside the girl's and stroked his chin thoughtfully for a moment, before animatedly coming to a conclusion.
"You're asking the wrong man," Weiss decided, sounding disappointed. But he went on. "Because I'll just tell you anything on the menu is good," he said with an amiable smile. "I own the place, and I wouldn't serve anything if I couldn't recommend it."
He stood up straight once more. "That being said, the grilled chicken salad is delicious. It's a pretty light dish, good for nice weather, but it's got some substance to it as well, so it's enough for a good lunch. Would you care to order one?"

Her ears listened intently, as she looked up to him. When he mentioned that he owned the restaraunt, she nearly died, eyes wide like a deer's in headlights. She must've looked like a fool, a real fool, sitting there and asking the owner how a dish was. Kinami's eyes shifted downward, staring at the table for a moment, as she didn't respond.
'S-s-sorry-- I-I didn't mean to-- It's just that--" She nearly started rambling, a nervous and horrible habit of hers, but she stopped herself. "P-please forgive me..." Kinami forced a semi-nervous smile. "But y-yes, I'd like to order one, s-since you made it sound so good." Gentle, hinted banter, followed by a quiet giggle. "Thank you so much."

Weiss raised a hand in protest to her apologizing, tilting his head downward and allowing his hair to fall down slightly over his eyes.
"Not a problem at all, madam. You haven't wronged anyone."
He turned slightly to face the bar and whistled a short, high note. A chef's hat poked out of the swinging door to the back, followed shortly by a chef's head. Weiss spoke briefly with the chef in elven and when the chef nodded and ducked back into the kitchen, he used Retrieve and a dish came flying at him. Catching it deftly, he turn back to Kinami with a pleasant smile.
"If you really feel the need to apologize though, you can make up for it by enjoying your meal, on the house," he said, placing the food she had ordered on the table in front of her with a sweeping bow.
