Dieter was a little startled by the call. When he found out it was Caldera he wondered if he should order drinks or put together a contract to pay for. Well Dieter was going to get her to help him out on something anyway. Since there was a significant amount of money involved he could get her on the move rather quickly. All he had to do was push her in the right direction. The goblins would help him finance it. Dieter responded to the call with an, "I'm on my way." Then he picked up his coat, his hat, and then made his way to the lobby.
When he reached the front he knew he should probably get Cal away from the obnoxious receptionist. So he quickly said, "Cal, good to see you why don't we go and grab a bite. Err coffee."

Dieter smiled, "I have a bank account waiting for you with the owners signature. I need you to hunt down someone that called a hit on me. PI kind of work. Real secretive. I'm sorry but I have to make it interesting with some of my Coven contacts working the case but you're pretty good at what you do. These guys were pretty renowned. They should've known better to take the contract." Dieter held out the sum of the bank account payment that was posted int he account. "The owner contributed these funds to me after he found out what kind the counter-offer was to the attempt on my or anyone I care about's life." Dieter knew the sum would get her to investigate the subject. He then realized that talking to a Dragoon meant specifying as to whether dead or alive was important. Especially around Caldera.
"Also I just want to know who called the hit. I'll decide on what to do after and that might earn you a bonus and a night of free drinks."

Dieter figured she probably meant the chandelier to miss the pixie. Cal had an explosive temper but she wasn't really prone to spontaneous murder. Well at least over something as petty as this guy. He did stamp on a very sore subject though. In a sense Dieter figured petrifying the poor bastard was a mercy. He wouldn't want to endure her temper for very long. Her rants were exhausting and commentary brought painful retribution. Dieter continued walking with Cal on the way to the food court which had the most delicious livestock stand. "Actually I do have some information for you." Dieter handed her the note with the name of the intermediary, the name of the ex hit group, and added, "If you want some more information apparently Spaztle of the hit group has lost his eyes and arms to an unknown assailant. It seems after my quality time speaking with him someone wished him harm. I only could imagine who that would be." One of the chief rules in the criminal element was don't rat. If you told secrets about your dealings that lead authorities to you then you could expect a worse punishment from their followers, friends, supporters, and even acquaintances who feel threatened by how much you know. Knowing a lot of hitmen and giving that information to the head Seraph is a very ballsy move for someone not protected by and large by TI. The Goblin knew that he should keep secrets safe if he wanted to survive. Even if it meant surviving without eyes and arms.
Dieter's wicked smile would clearly imply that a long conversation took place between Dieter and the remaining member of the Kubali Squad.

Dieter telepathically messaged her, Also your pay has already been deducted to pay for the chandelier you just broke. I'm sorry but you should really consider that such expenses aren't covered when you're not on the job. It'll be easier if I just take care of that for you so they don't bug you later. Especially if I left them to put it in your taxes.
Today was interesting and of all the people to put on the job, despite her reputation, Dieter knew that Cal was a very dependable person. In the aftermath of her resignation he had a feeling he smelled a rat. As he couldn't prove it he couldn't have been much help to Caldera. Since he'd seen her earlier years and her philosophy he could look from a lifetime perspective of the girl. Dieter liked to have all his facts straight and since a motive was lacking in the entire incident it couldn't have been her. He knew her story and believed there was a rat somewhere making life difficult for her. Dieter hoped for a moment that the rat turned out to be the same as the whoever put out the hit. If it was then that'd be a great way to kill two birds with one stone. Well, maybe more like settling two accounts at once.

Dieter looked at the guy. "I'm pretty sure all you did was just pistol whip him and get him over here. I hired you to teach the person that called the hit a lesson." Dieter's eyes narrowed on the man, "besides you already got this guys name. He apparently caught you berating the goblin. That was a little excessive since you already have this guy's name." Dieter sighed. Cal must be really desperate for money if it was coming to this.
"I wanted a Dragoon to do most of the work. Now that you have him here I believe we'll get a couple answers. Dario you know who I am and what I'm capable of. I think you'd best tell me your master's dealings if you want to walk out of here fine. If you don't I can process you, have you 'escape,' custody, then get the information out of you. If you want to leave unharmed you'll tell me all you know about this rooky Felix. You'll probably get his place if you are really nice." Dieter withdrew a curved blade from beneath his rope dart. He wanted Felix to spill the beings quickly that way he could plan his next move and set Caldera to work on it.

Dieter smiled, "Good you've been more than cooperative so I won't make you suffer. I'll allow you to leave TI and get back to your home. If you ever accept a job against me again you'll think Spatz was a case of mercy compared to the torment I'll put you through." Dieter waited for the frightened man to make a motion to leave. He tripped over the wire and fell on a tack. ((I won't say where it hit him))
"Just so we're clear you won't talk to anyone is that right." Dieter then handed the poor man over to an escort before looking at Caldera.
"It seems that Felix grew in power. Well that just means I'll have to take him down a few pegs. With this address I'll contact some of the dragoons to arrest him. Caldera, anything you can find out about anyone that does business with Felix I need you to give anonymous information to other dragoons. They'll automatically place taps and surveillance on them. I think I might know a couple. Only tell them after we have him in custody. He'll be out of here within the hour but we'll ruin his reputation. It'll also spook his associates into not dealing with him. If you could spread word among the criminal eliment that he's a rat it'd be much appreciated. I moved half your pay to this account. Enjoy Caldera." Dieter of course had withdrawn a lot of the money to pay for the Chandelier that Caldera had collapsed. Dieter hoped she wouldn't notice.

Dieter assigned Kim to the arrest effort with some enforcers and a dragoon. He knew Kim to especially hold any organized crime in high disdain. Dieter only had to mention an attempt on a Seraphs life as what he was wanted for questioning regarding to and Kim would make the arrest pretty thorough. There were no casualties as the raid hit hard and fast. Felix of course had some decent lawyers to get him out. However Dieter knew in his absence his underlings would hear about the intelligence he was supposedly handing out. This in turn would boil tension within his lieutenants. Not only that but Felix's allies and supporters would all slowly distance themselves from him. Worse yet Dieter was going to write to some of his contacts to press Felix's territory. That whould prove to be a bit much for him to handle. He may have got some power over a piece on trading vice, but other's would be ready and willing to do it. If their reliable contacts on the inside, contacts that didn't know Dieter knew their double allegence, were to report hearsay on this in the upper levels. Felix was a ruined man. He would be out in a year.
His hitmen were terrified of him. His intermediary accomplice, if he was smart would leave town. If he wasn't he'd be considered a coward, a sellout, a accomplice to Felix himself, or any combination. Dieter knew that knowledge was power. With centuries of learning the crowds and getting the dirt on the right people and providing boons on the right people, Dieter protected TI and vampire interests in this way. It kept most of the criminal element from attacking the supremely important people. It also kept the criminals from supporting a front for cults like AI, or other sundry groups. In exchange Dieter helped out in small ways. Vampires were natural manipulators. In a way Dieter kept a controlled chaos over the world that kept people like Felix from interfering. If people ruined their lives on drugs who was Dieter to stop their vice.
In a way many people and servants in the Coven who were mortal were hooked on their own kind of vice. Who was Dieter to judge? This isn't to say he didn't have ethical problems with the underworld from time to time. Dieter felt by putting his hand there he kept things from spiraling too far out of control. He kept people just a little bit more decent in that world. A world in which people were not meant to behave as people but as monsters. Little bits of manipulation went a long way. Felix crossed a line and he would be punished for it. Warnings and the such kept Dieter one step ahead of the average conspirator. That was his job, and most of the criminal element knew Dieter wouldn't crack down on them unless they crossed that line. Several families knew that. This newbie didn't. Mob families' power came and went. New players are always on the rise. Dieter kept the right distance away to not be directly involved but to have knowledge of events that pass there which kept him on the outside of power struggles. Felix brought him in and would face Dieter's wrath.
Dieter reminisced on the old days where one would just challenge them to a public duel and slaughter them in public. It was so much simpler and so much more fun. He loved when people like Felix realized just what powder keg they had lit. Once upon a time he came across a Frenchman who challenged him and upon every meeting Dieter acted as a cripple. When he challenged Dieter to a duel with sabers he had no idea what kind of hell Dieter had in store for him. Those kinds of faces were priceless.
Of course there were the duels that didn't need to happen and some killings that still haunted Dieter to this day.
