Name: Riana Nimberdove
Age: 13
Race: Elf
Classes: Charms & Curses, Counter-Maneuvers, Tonics, Toxins and Technology.
History:
Young Riana's life should have been far different from what it was. As the first child of elvish nobility she should have lived a charmed and pampered life, but such was not to be. Her parents were on a routine journey into the mortal realm when disaster struck. Eleven years ago they were passing through a small glen with two year old Riana in toe when they were ambushed by members of the Arteas Immortalis Cult. The fighting was fierce and devastating to the landscape, and the people gathered there. When the smoke had cleared, Riana was found, back by the roots of Yggdrasil next to the now dead Dryad, and with a very grievous injury. Due to the magical energy released during the fight, the elves and pixies were quick to respond to the glens entrance, a fact that saved young Riana's life. Her left leg had been contaminated by necromantic magic so deeply that it had corrupted the very nerves. Medical mages had to work fast, and even after the initial treatment they doubted her ability to survive. But Riana did endure, in the face of a permanent injury, her now lame left leg, and the despair of her dead parents. Though the leg maintains a normal appearance (Thanks to the quick work of the healers), it is almost completely dead, and filled with the lingering aura of necromancy. One would think that after all that had happened she would have been due for some good fortune, but it was not to be quite yet. The problem arose of what to do with her, because the elves did not wish to take someone tainted with the curse of necromancy into their house, even if she was technically of noble blood. Then something very unexpected happened, a pair of pixies stepped up to volunteer. Most thought that it was folly for two pixies to raise an immortal elf, but the pixies were quick to point out that they shouldn't be denied the right if "Everybody else was too superstitious to take a gamble!" So it came to pass the a baby elf was raised by a pair of pixies, possibly the two most different races.
Riana herself is unaware of who her parents were (Though she does know they were elves, of course.) because the information was hidden from her. The elves do not believe that she would be a capable noble to represent them, so her family line has ended with her...perhaps. The site of the attack was examined and added more fuel to the fire of distrust around Riana. The entire area was dead and destroyed, the necromantic aura there so severe that to this day nothing will grow there and no animals or creatures will approach it willingly.
We are now 11 years in the future. And one more interesting twist of fate has been thrown Riana's way. Her foster parents, the same pair of pixies, have seen the discrimination and prejudice that she endures and wished a better life for her. That is why she was enrolled in the Academy as soon as she was of age, even if it was young for an elf. Riana herself views the move as another adventure and a chance to view the real world outside of the elves sheltered forest.
Personality: Optimist, that one word describes Riana perfectly. No matter what happens or who she is talking to, she is always happy and pleasant. Even with her own disability she remains happy, thinking that it is good that she has one working leg, after all, it's more then none! Being raised by pixies, who enjoy every second of their very short lives, she has learned to enjoy all the small joys in life, and relaxes and laughs in a way very few elves do. Even being immortal it is unlikely her curiosity will ever be completely satiated. She is a great lover of music, poetry and art, as most elves are. However she finds the simple beauty of these things more enjoyable then the layers of symbolic meaning the elves are famous for.
As far as races go she has no real preference. She enjoys the company of anyone and everyone, though she does have some preconceived notions. Humans are funny and interesting creatures, as varied as the rainbow. Pixies are cherished friends, and the only species that can keep up with her insatiable curiosity. Dwarves remind her of a gruff grandfather figure, and she treats them with the respect a polite child would treat their grandfather. Werewolves, Vampires and Demons are a bit frightening to her, but she won't write them off without giving them a chance. Goblins are funny little creatures that she might be tempted to treat like a pet, which may anger the goblin.
Physical Appearance:
Riana is rather short, which is understandable given her age and race, and has long, straight, blond hair reaching roughly the center of her back. She carries an oak walking stick to support herself, and at first glance it would appear valuable thanks to all the gems embedded in it. However the gems are roughly worthless, being simply the prettiest and shiniest rocks that Riana could find to decorate the stick. Strapped to her back she has one finely crafted item of elvish descent. A small violin that, unbeknown to her, was taken from her old house and given to her foster parents shortly after the attack. It belonged to her mother, but she does not know this. Her eyes shine an emerald green, and her thin mouth is almost always pulled into a smile. She has very fair skin and a very slender build as well, one might even view her as a life like doll.
As far as clothing, she wears a skirt and jumper top, both green with a purple or violet trim. She also wears a green over-the-shoulder cape, or a half cloak. Her ears are adorned with purple dangling earrings, and one single silver bracelet on her right arm. The bracelet has the letters "INN" engraved into the inside of it, Riana has not noticed this.

Not totally happy with this picture, but it's a pretty good idea.
