Beazule wouldn't let Ju Ming sleep until she had done appropriate amounts of research on some good curses. Her offensive powers were coming along and she's been working hard on learning a reflect spell. Beazule felt now was the time to work on some particularly devastating curses which would be all the more fun. Charms were nice things to avoid trouble and make an escape but curses were great for torture without killing. This was the reason why she snuck out of the Dorms so late at night in order to make her way to the Library. Sure it was going to close soon but she really did want to know more. She picked up a book entitled, "Blood curses." It seemed like an interesting place to start.
That's a little advanced for you dearest. Please start with some more mundane material. Ritual and complicated magic like that is beyond your level.
Why can't you teach me the spells and theories like you normally do.
Because this way you'll be studying like a normal girl and develop your own ideas. You can't just go on my teachings alone. Power comes to those that experiment and build on a base. I'll be here to help you but you need to work on your own too. I've found that humans can come up with fairly good horrific spells on their own. I loved Pope Innocent's work with the inquisition.
Just then Ju thought she heard something.

Why a girl such as her was in a library, and this late was anyone's guess. The truth would be that she just got caught up in exploring the school and hadn't yet realized what time it was. She was quite surprised by the walls of books these humans kept, I mean they weren't as big as some of the libraries people had back home, but she wasn't usually allowed to go into those, something about getting them dirty. She never did understand that, I mean sure she liked playing outside, but she knew how to be neat and not get things dirty. She supposed they were just being super careful, that is what her mother told her. They could be so stiff about their silly books, what good was anything if you didn't use it?
Thinking on this she turned from one of the aisles and noticed something. Or rather someone. It was that girl from her Charms and Curses class! What luck to run into a new friend here!
She practically skipped up to the girl. "Hello!" She said cheerfully, a little louder then she should have. "What are you reading about?" She asked inquisitively, trying to read the books cover.

Ju Ming just giggled and with a smile said, "particularly interesting curses. Wanna look at some of them with me?" Ju just gave a cure smile and perked up from her work.
Elves make particularly fun test subjects.
Ju just brushed the thought aside and continued smiling at the elf.

Riana wasn't big on curses, but that didn't mean they weren't interesting. And she was taking a class in them, so she'd best study!
"Ooooh, yes! What sort of spells does this book talk about?" Riana asked curiously, setting down her stick against the table and pulling up a chair next to Ju. She'd never looked at a book of curses before. Unlike her race, she'd never learned magic from a book, she learned little spells from her parents, through trial and error like all pixies would.
So the idea of books holding spells was something quite interesting to the young elf.

Ju Ming turned to a spell that was infamous for shrinking both the target and the caster's head. "Useless," she then looked over a few pages and realized the book had an interesting spell capable of forcing illusions on a person. "Interesting." She showed that spell's sigils and the elements that would have to be weaved into the spell. "This looks interesting doesn't it."

Riana loomed over the book, brushing her hair out of her face. She wasn't too good with grabbing things from books, but...
"This...is to make people see things, right?" She asked inquisitively, a small grin splitting her face. "Oooh, you could play all kinds of neat tricks with this!" She added with a smile. "But what do all of these mean?" She asked, referring to the Sigils and signs, and tilting her head slightly in confusion.
