Jasmine giggled at Mitch's advice. People had told her that when she was human. She smiled at him as she followed Dieter out of the bar. She looked around, unsure of where she was. She was sure she had been in Tokyo when he had taken her to his apartment. How did they get... wherever they were now? She asked as much. "Where are we, this doesn't look like Japan..?" She hadn't left the apartment since she had first gotten there so she didn't know much of her surroundings. Hanging out with Dieter was getting stranger and stranger.

Dieter laughed, "we haven't been in Japan for days. My apartment was on an island, and now we're in a place all to itself. The Coven exists more as an entity than as an actual geological place. Vampires are kinda tuned to come here when they need a safe place to be." Dieter continued walking.
"There's a bit of a pecking order around here and a little politeness goes a long way." Dieter waited for Jasmine to return to his side before he started leading her toward his estate.

That surprised Jasmine. They hadn't been in Japan for days? No wonder people hung up the phone when she answered with a 'mushi mushi'. She felt like an idiot. She kept up with him, thinking about how she had gotten to the apartment. SHe had thought nothing else could surprise her. His words jerked her from her thoughts. "Pecking order? Let me guess, I'm at the bottom?" She asked. She didn't sound as sarcastic as the coimment did. She was truly curious.

"Actually right now you're important by association. You're not my someone I sired but you are, in their eyes, my servant. Thus you should be treated with a great deal of respect and a certain degree of polite behavior is expected. Don't worry, just do what you'd normally do if you were to be polite to someone." Dieter lead Jasmine to the street level via a manhole in an alley.

Jasmine shrugged. They considered her a servant? Jeez, that was comforting. But whatever was better than not being noticed at all. She hated being invisible. She had always been unnoticed when she was human. It was quite annoying having people converse around you but never with you... "Oh, okay."

"Keep in mind this is a society where someone who appears five years old could rip the head off a 40 year old man who was impolite. Things won't always be as they seem and thus politeness is very important. It's not that people don't like you its just we have to be spending a long time around each other. No one wants to have to spend long periods of time around an a**hole so that's kinda how it is. Younger vampires such as yourself often get into cliques. If you would like to meet them go ahead. Nothing's stopping you from leaving my apartment and seeking them out. I'm just giving you options Jasmine."
Dieter didn't want Jasmine to be intimidated by vampire society. He knew it was indeed a very intimidating reality. He just didn't want Jasmine to go unawares of the real world. Also in case his apartment were attacked Dieter wanted Jasmine to have a safe house to run to.

Jasmine sighed. She didn't want her head ripped off. In fact, she rather liked her head. She had every intention of keeping it. She reminded herself not to be impolite to any five year olds. When Dieter told her she was free to go out and find cliques, her face fell. She looked at him pleadingly. "You don't want me in your home anymore?" She sounded very much like a small child. She took a deep breath, trying not to look so vulnerable and upset. After all, she knew that it would happen soon enough. She had just hoped it wouldn't be for a while.

Dieter couldn't help but laugh, "of course I want you in my home. You've been the best guest I've had in decades! I just figured you'd have gotten a little bored of staying inside. I mean apartment Dieter leaves much to be desired in terms of interpersonal connections. However I have to at least introduce you to Mizu and let you know about the safe house here. No matter how good your decorating is, there is life outside my apartment and I can't have me keeping you from living it. Really I'm trying to provide you with a home base. A place you can feel safe and at home. That's really what I'm good at and that's really what a lot of the younger vampires need more often than not."
Dieter lead Jasmine down some winding streets and up a hill to the castel walls of his estate. He walked proudly up to the gate and then said, "alright now, this is the home I stay at when I don't have to work." Dieter then opened the gate to the forest that was contained inside the castle walls that lead up to the house proper.

Jasmine felt quite embarrassed. She didn't realize how childish she had sounded. She kept her head low, smiling a little at his assurance that she was a good house guest. She shook her head earnestly. "I'm not bored!" She lied quickly. There were times that she lay on her futon with nothing to do but try to stop unwelcome thoughts coming into her head.
She had done what he asked and not played with any of his weapons, it's not like she had wanted to play with them anyway. She had kept herself pretty busy. She wasn't sure what else there was that needed to be done sometimes. So she just kept her head low and walked with him.
She couldn't help but lift her head in awe when she saw castle walls. He lived in a castle? She had expected a cottage or a bomb shelter. But a castle? That was insane. "You live in a..." She stumbled over the unfamiliar word. "Castle?"

(I forgot it was a portcullis that oppened. Just correcting myself.)
"Well its really by the mercy of the previous owner that I live here." Dieter lead Jasmine past the carefully trimmed grass, the black forest hardwood trees, and then past the Japanese cherry blossoms that were still in bloom, and then past the ponds and decorated Chinese gardens. Eventually they reached the front of the actual seven story building that Dieter called home. The building was heavily decorated with works of arts that were carved and worked into the stone. A stately Japanese woman wearing a kimono stood at the entrance doors to the castle and bowed politely.
"Welcome back Dieter." She bowed to Jasmine and said, "my name is Mizu, may I ask yours?"
((sorry I'm having adding the color. Please forgive me not making Mizu's line's blue.))

((S'okay, doesn't matter))
Jasmine was startled. Even if the gardens were huge, the house was immense. Was it six or seven stories? She couldn't tell. She felt very small as she gazed up at it.
A voice made her jump back into the present. She was surprised to see a Japanese woman standing before her. Was this Mizu? Her next words confirmed that suspicion. "Um, Jasmine..." She replied shyly. What was with the bowing. She never knew how to react.

Dieter gave Mizu a short bow and nodded for Jasmine to do the same. Mizu gave an hajimamashite and then followed Dieter. Dieter took Jasmine into the great entry hall and motioned for her to come in.
"This is a place you can always feel free to come to. Mizu will always be glad to help you out and does the cleaning and such. She's very persistent and diligent. So if someone tries to kill you or an alarm goes off in the apartment I want you to come here and Mizu will be glad to help you out. This is a much more securable place than my apartment. Mizu is very adept at handling intruders aren't you."
To that Mizu only had to seemingly grab a katana from thin air. "None this week Dieter but there's always bigger prey."
Dieter reminded himself to privately tell Mizu that the invitation to the house was extended to Jasmine. He didn't want Mizu decapitating someone on the suspicion of being an intruder. Mizu was very old world in dealing with these matters.

Jasmine looked at Dieter and blushed as she realized that she was supposed to bow too. She did her best. It didn't look very good. She had never bowed to someone before... As they walked into the house-castle, Jasmine listened to him. Familiar words were jumping out at her. HE had been telling her about attacks before hadn't he..?
She looked at Dieter, surprised. "Why would anyone attack me? I didn't do anything." A thought struck her. "You weren't lying about those council people accepting me were you..?" She bit her lip. What if people were out to kill her? Would he tell her?

"Not so much you as me. I can hardly go to a bar or a Broadway show without some thingy ruining the evening. No one would really go after you unless they thought using you might get to me. A lot of the psychotics don't really care to lay intricate schemes and would just kill whoever was in my apartment and then wait for me. Its these contingencies I worry about. Say someone as strong as me busts into the apartment and takes shots at you. They'd hunt you down as you are a witness. If you run straight to the Coven and to this house you'll be safe. Among the council you're kindred. In fact your legal status among the council is pretty much akin to a five year old."
Dieter didn't know when to keep his mouth shut. He just blurted out whatever he was thinking. Tact wasn't really his objective. Dieter couldn't bear to think what Morin or Val would do to Jasmine if they ran into her.

Jasmine looked a little afraid. She knew he was strong. If someone as strong as him did try and kill her she would be more of an annoyance than a challenge. She tried not to let Dieter see her panic. What if that happened? She didn't really mind a challenge. She was sure that she wouldn't be mentally able to back down from a challenge. She would be too curious to find out the resulkt. But if they did kill her, what would happen to Dieter? He would have nobody to clean his house or wash his clothes or fix his stuff or... Her thoughts trailed off into jumbled nothingness. "Oh..." Was all she could manage.
((Now I'm really curious to find out how that idea - Morin or Val coming to your apartment - would turn out. That would be a bit of fun hey.... Hmmm... ))
